A Childhood Spark That Ignited a Legacy
Krister Haraldsen’s love for football shirts began at eight years old with a Manchester United 1992-94 home jersey, complete with its iconic collar ties.
“It was the feeling of getting it - I still remember the smell and everything,” he recalls. “It was an XL jersey, a dress on me, but I didn’t care. I was so proud.”

That oversized kit wasn’t just a shirt; it was the start of a lifelong obsession. Today, Krister’s collection numbers between 600 and 700 shirts, with an estimated 5,000-6,000 having passed through his hands since he began. His passion exploded in 2016 when he launched his Instagram, and within six months, he was shipping jerseys worldwide, fueling a global network of collectors and traders.
The Golden Age of Kits
Ask Krister to pick a favorite shirt, and he’ll tell you it’s like choosing a favorite song - it changes by the moment. Right now, he’s drawn to the Inter Milan 2004-05 away kit and Kappa designs from 2000-02, like those of Roma. “The early 2000s was the golden age of shirts,” he says, lamenting the shift to annual releases driven by commercialization.
“We’re selling memories, key moments. Back then, football was about loyalty.”
For Krister, those early-2000s designs capture an era when players like Cantona, Beckham, Ronaldo, and Zidane defined the game’s soul, making their kits timeless treasures.

Treasures of Rarity and Prestige
Krister’s collection boasts some jaw-dropping rarities, like a Cristiano Ronaldo match-issued Real Madrid 2016-17 home shirt and a 2017-18 Supercup shirt prepared for Ronaldo’s infamous goal-and-red-card match against Barcelona.
He also owns five or six sample shirts from clubs like Real Madrid and AC Milan - unique pieces that never hit retail. These aren’t just shirts; they’re artifacts of football history, cherished for their scarcity and the moments they represent.
“It’s not just about the design,” Krister says. “It’s about what the shirt stands for.”
Heroes of the Pitch
Krister’s collection is deeply personal, shaped by his admiration for players with “aura.” He nearly became an Arsenal fan for Dennis Bergkamp but chose Manchester United for Eric Cantona’s magnetic presence. “Cantona, Beckham, Ronaldo, Zidane - they’re my focus,” he says.
His connection to Cantona is especially vivid, tied to a unforgettable memory from 1998-99 in his hometown of Stavanger, where Cantona played beach football after retiring.
“I made a plan to get his shirt signed,” Krister laughs. “I stood at the exit, threw the jersey in his face, and he signed it without a word. It was the best day of my life!”
Building Community, Fighting Fakes
Krister’s influence extends far beyond his collection.
Through projects like Oase.ai, a new sales platform for football jerseys and boots in Norway, he’s revolutionizing the collecting world with live auctions, wishlists, shop-in-shop features, and personal verification of every item.
His Instagram accounts, @shoegems for sales and @FKH Collection for his personal collection, are hubs for enthusiasts, while his Facebook group, Kjøp, Salg og Bytte av Fotballdrakter og Sko, with nearly 32,000 members, is a trusted space for trading authentic kits.
Authentication is a battle Krister takes seriously. “Learning how to spot originals versus counterfeits has been the hardest thing,” he says, especially with fakes becoming more sophisticated.
He checks all indicators in advance, often using his Facebook Authenticity Group, and warns collectors about deals that seem “too good to be true.” His commitment to authenticity is why he’s a trusted figure in the community, ensuring collectors avoid the heartbreak of fakes.
A Global Hunt for Gems
Sourcing shirts is an art form for Krister. He employs a network of scouts in countries like Morocco and Poland, where jerseys are often cheaper, scouring thrift shops and bulk stock. “I buy in bulk,” he says, a strategy that’s fueled his massive collection.
The rest, is a trade secret, but Krister recommends finding your own sourcing method, building relationships and sticking to it for best results.

Preserving the Past
Krister treats his shirts with reverence. “I hang them all on hangers, with space in between, not cramped together,” he explains. “I don’t wash them because I don’t use them - except for about 10 I wear.”
His most valuable pieces, like the Ronaldo match-issued shirts, are sealed in plastic film to preserve their condition. This meticulous care ensures his collection remains a pristine archive of football’s history.
Wisdom for Aspiring Collectors
Krister’s advice to new collectors is rooted in focus and authenticity:
“Find your niche first - it’s easier to focus on your goal. Don’t waste time and money on shirts with no value to you.”
For those aiming to sell, he emphasizes honesty:
“Be so honest about the product you’re selling to build trust. Price them fairly - too fairly, even.” His transparency has earned him a reputation as a trusted seller, whether through @shoegems or his upcoming platform, Oase.ai, which promises to elevate the collecting experience with verified jerseys and innovative features.
A Legacy of Passion and Purpose
Krister Haraldsen’s journey is a testament to the power of football shirts to connect us to the game’s heart. From his childhood Manchester United kit to his rare Ronaldo and Cantona treasures, his collection is a living history of football’s golden moments.
Through Oase.ai, @FKH Collection, and his Facebook group, he’s building a community where collectors can trust, trade, and thrive. As he puts it, “We’re selling memories.” And for Krister, every shirt is a memory worth preserving.
